Billet
A billet is one of the most essential semi-finished steel products, produced either by cutting an ingot or via continuous casting. It is the primary raw material for manufacturing long steel products such as rebar, wire rod, and other light or medium sections. Billets have a smaller and more uniform cross-section compared to blooms. A high-quality billet must exhibit a clean surface, homogeneous internal structure, precise dimensions, and excellent hot-rolling capability. The consistency of a billet directly impacts product uniformity, mechanical strength, and performance throughout the rolling process.
